French Police once again proved that real passion is timeless, and excellent music can fuel an artist deep into their later years. They looked like 6 twenty somethings enthusiastically playing the music they’d created, with their hearts in each and every track, not a band of men in their 60s faking it on stage. Their songs often twist and turn, change tempo and build, and with each variation, on every offering, I never felt like anyone was mailing it in. They engage audiences, perform for and with them, and deliver every single night, the best metal band still working. The spectacle of their stage shows only adds to their brilliance. “Where Eagles Dare” and “For the Greater Good of God” were highlights for me, but the entire show was fantastic. Up the irons!
